Models Own - Green Tea - Spring nails!

Hi everyone! You must be thinking: Konad? What's that? Is this Lacquerized? She must be sick or something.. Ha well not exactly. Everyone that knows me, knows that normally I really don't care for Konad or any other nail art. Well, on me that is! I see lovely designs that I absolutely adore on others, and when I try it myself, it just doesn't feel right. Most of the times this is also caused by the fact I have to double stamp, I'm just no good at it!

But today, Michelle from The Lacquer Files talked me into it! On the Dutch boards we have a theme going on and it's spring! So it was time to dig up my flower again and do some stamping :-D. Luckily my mom is really into nail art so I confiscated some of her Konad stuff ;-). I picked out this leaf design, it's on one of those FauxNad plates (a20). I like these a lot because the patterns are a bit bigger, yay!

The base color I used is Green Tea by Models Own, and no matter what I tried, the real color won't show up on photos. It's a true green, with hardly any blue to it. The application was the best of all the Model Own polishes I've tried so far! Funnily enough, I thought this was going to dry like a jelly, but it dries matte. I've read several reviews on this color but I've never seen this mentioned, so imagine my surprise! I will make a blog post some other time showing you how pretty it is on its own, today the lighting just didn't feel like cooperating.

For stamping I used a mint green by Konad's special polish, unfortunately I can't find a number or name.

Ciaté - Camilla

Hi everyone! Are you enjoying your last day of the weekend? Today I have a very special polish I'd like to show you. When Natasja sent me some P2 polishes, she included two gorgeous Ciaté nail polishes as a gift for me and my mom! They're really pretty, I can't thank you enough Natasja! You definitely know what our taste is like ;-) So today, I'll be showing you one of them: Camilla. I'm not really familiar with this lovely brand from the UK, but I do know these are a bit older, since they've changed the bottle. Camilla is a gorgeous purple with an amazing golden shimmer. The shimmer is really obvious in the shade, but when sunrays hit her, it's absolutely gorgeous. Purple is one of my favorite colors and I love contrasting shimmer, so how could I not fall in love with this one? Application of this polish was outstanding, I only applied two coats and it went on very smoothly. I also tried the David top coat for the first time, and I absolutely loved it! Well.. I think I'll let the pictures do the talking..

Let's combine some glitter and flakies!

Oh no! Yesterday Blogger decided to have my blog post for dinner! So if you experienced some weird things going on around here, it's due to crazy Blogger! I might rewrite it soon, but today I have something else to show you. I've worn both colors before but never combined them. I layered Nfu Oh #56 on top of Gosh' Blue Monday. I just love to layer flakies over glitter, it creates an amazing depth. Application of both polishes is good, but Blue Monday is pretty sheer and needs 3 or 4 coats.

The funniest thing happened today though, I was snapping pics in the kitchen, next to window, and a man stopped to see what I was doing! I only noticed after a while, he stood there watching, and stayed there for like 2 minutes! I wasn't even dressed yet :'). Of course I ran away, he must have thought I was crazy, making pictures of my hands like that. Did you ever get caught like this? :-D

OPI - My Espana favorites & Upcoming Shrek Collection!

Hi guys! How is everyone? I'm a bit sick today but thankfully I had already prepared this post yesterday, so I only had to push the Publish button (well, and write this of course) :-D.

I wanted to show you my favorites from the Espana collection by OPI. This collection came out last fall, and I was pleasantly suprised! The colors that came out were wonderful, I liked almost every polish out of this collection. I'm sure you've all seen them by now but I wanted to show you two favorites of mine..

The first one, and my ultimate favorite, is Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow. This is a stunning blackened dark green. It has a jelly-like finish so It's incredibly shiny, even on it's own. The application was pretty good, the first coat went on really sheer but the 2nd coat makes up for that. I applied 3 coats, to get an opaque result.

The other color I absolutely adore, is Pamplona Purple. It's a beautiful purple creme, with an amazing application. 2 quick coats and you're good to go!

After OPI's Absolutely Alice and the Hong Kong collection, they're already working on a new one: The Shrek After Forever collection.

Essence - Cute as hell - Naughty but nice

Oh my, it feels like spring around here! The weather is so nice, the sun is shining, the sky is blue.. Finally the world looks alive again. Today I received a package from the wonderful Natasja! She did some P2 shopping for me and my mom, and she got me Naughty But Nice from the Cute As Hell collection by Essence. She even gave us two amazing nail polishes as a gift! Expect a post about this very soon! So if you're reading this, Natasja, thank you ever so much!!

So, since the weather is almost springlike and I got this lovely yellow pastel in the mail, I just had to wear it. It's a really pretty soft yellow creme, which applied surprisingly well. Of course it was a bit on the streaky side, almost every yellow pastel does that to me. I applied 3 coats to even it all out.

Index and ring: Models Own - Lemon Meringue, middle and pinkie: Essence - Naughty but nice

I compared it to Lemon Meringue by Models Own, I thought they were dead on dupes, but they're different! Lemon Meringue is a tad cooler and lighter, I love them both! I do think the formula of Naughty But Nice is better though, especially when you consider that Models Own nail polishes aren't 3free.
