I started Googling about Sally Hansen products being tested on animals when I saw a comment on Youtube. I really like their products but I wouldn't be able to stand myself if I continued to use them knowing that the company does that to innocent animals. You can reach Sally Hansen here: 1 800 953 5080 and I plan to tomorrow. I'm against all of the companies doing that but I really like their products and will continue to use them when it is confirmed that they don't test on animals anymore. Stop. Animal. Cruelty.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8453635140925491261.post-60299706842448175262011-05-15T12:33:56.539+02:002011-05-15T12:33:56.539+02:00To be honest, all companies do animal testing even...To be honest, all companies do animal testing even if they say they don't.

Those that are "cruelty free" are not 100% cruelty free. You see, in order for a product to be released for sale to the public, it's ingredients MUST be tested on something and that something is more than likely an animal. So at some point or another, every single ingredient on the market has been animal tested. It may not be through the companies themselves but often times they will pay third party companies to do their dirty work for them.
This is sad but the true reality of things.

So when you pay more for a "cruelty free" product, don't think you are paying a company for not doing animal testing. Because you are in fact paying the company to pay another company to test the product on animals.Christienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8453635140925491261.post-50492008860594220872011-04-27T10:44:40.394+02:002011-04-27T10:44:40.394+02:00Hey :)

There is no arbitrary separation. People do not need cosmetics, so the fact that many cosmetics are toxic or dangerous does not necessitate a need for torturing non-human animals. Many scientists are intelligent enough to realize that 1. there are plenty of ingredients which we already know are safe and 2. testing on other species generally does not tell us how humans will react.

There is no need for animal testing, and certainly not for cosmetics. Choose natural plant based ingredients, assume the risk of chemical ingredients or don't use them, but don't justify torturing animals so you can play makeovers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8453635140925491261.post-19250727721203991762010-12-02T09:22:19.163+01:002010-12-02T09:22:19.163+01:00Hi

The "cruelty free" label has an ambiguous meaning and doesn't always mean something doesn't have animal ingredients.

I am curious as to how you discovered that Milani and Zoya and some of the others are vegan? Did you get an email confirmation? I don't doubt you, it's just that I'm a scientist & I like to know the original information :)

As for Smashbox, I actually corresponded with them a couple of months ago and received a huge list of products that they make that they say are vegan. Do you know differently? It's a huge list, so I can't cut & paste it here, but if you're interested I can definitely forward the email.

Again, thanks for the research & the great list. With the risk of shattering some utopian vegan dreams of a herbivore society, I am afraid I have to inform you that there is NOT going to be a vegan revolution. I admire the fact that there are still people who believe that it is going to happen, but it is essentially quite naieve. In fact, flaunting your self-righteousness and perceived moral supremacy will probably harm your cause more than it will aid it. When someone like Michèle uses their well-visited blog to get people thinking about part of their actions it is something that I can only applaud.
As you can see, several people have already mentioned that they will use the information provided the next time they go out to buy something.

As said by Anouk above, every little bit helps. What is the point in belittling people that do not 'go the distance' as you and I do? Do you plan on berating people that work for, for example, the WWF (no, not the wrestlers) because some of them are quite possibly meat eaters? Does that completely negate the positive actions that their work can have?

And what if someone is 'a hypocrite'? Is it more important for someone to be consistent in all their actions, eat meat and abuse animals than for a person to at least stop to think about part of their actions?

I could say more, but I think I have made my point quite clear.

Animal, human and earth liberation will only come through education. And one step at a time.Jaspernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8453635140925491261.post-36213771085011888592010-10-04T17:17:03.195+02:002010-10-04T17:17:03.195+02:00@seymour

You do not know how/to what extent someone is vegetarian and you certainly do not have the right to judge people on this.
Non veganism is hypocrisy? If you're vegetarian, you exploit, torture, abuse, use and enslave animals just as badly as a meat-eater does, if not worse. If you have the slightest interest in animals not being used as objects and property, then please acknowledge that you being vegetarian does nothing for them and is contrary to your own values.
